    Marshall McLuhan's theory that the medium(media) is the message is still relevant in todays society. McLuhan's idea that society obtaining information through the media has shaped people more or equally as much as the message has, is still true in todays media consumption. Media is now a globally popular way to communicate and receive information. His idea that "one of the effects of living with electric information is that we live habitually in a state of information overload." is very common in todays society, especially with all of the new forms of social media which produce thousands of hours of content. Media allows for many distractions platforms like Tik Tok, Youtube, Instagram, Facebook etc, these  platforms allow for information overload. His studies play a crucial role in todays communication and technology studies.
